Now this is a special one!! Stephen sits down (literally) with his younger brother, Nick, in this episode of The Teeth Time Podcast. Nick is a graduate of The University of Tennessee and was recently accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine at UT. Nick joins the podcast to talk with his brother about his unique journey as a pre-vet student.
In this discussion, Nick and Stephen discuss pre-vet life, important experiences, the need to find your "Why?", admissions failures and successes, and so much more about the pre-vet experience. This conversation shines light on the pre-dental experience, as many of the hardships and successes that Nick went through are mirrored in the life of a pre-dental student.

Bart Voto is a D1 at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and he joins Stephen today to discuss his experiences as a pre-dental student, the importance of the DAT and how he prepared, his decision to attend Harvard for dental school, and how is NHSC scholarship has impacted his life and will shape his future.
Stephen recently released a YouTube video that discussed the possible ways one could pay for dental school. The NHSC scholarship was one of the options discussed. In this episode of the podcast, Bart fully explains the parameters of the NHSC scholarship and talks about why it was so important for him to become an NHSC scholar.

On Saturday November 20th, 2021, Stephen ran in the first half marathon of his life. Today's episode of Teeth Time is the full story. Stephen begins by describing his long-time relationship with running which was one that was not conducive to electively running in a half marathon. During the pandemic, however, Stephen's opinions on running changed, and, almost two years later, he reached the peak of his running career by completing the Nashville half marathon.
Stephen details the ins and outs of half marathon prep, race morning, the race itself, and the aftermath of the massive run. He also looks ahead to the future of his physical fitness endeavors and toys with the idea of running a full marathon in the future.
While this episode of Teeth Time does not cover dental school or dentistry directly, it details the passion of someone who uses running as an escape from these things. This episode is a testament to the achievements one can experience when they truly commit their mind, body, and spirit to a goal. Time to talk about a long run! It's Teeth Time!!

In this episode of Teeth Time, Stephen interviews Jasmine Ahrar, third year dental student and YouTuber. Jasmine is completing her training at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. Her journey to the dental profession is far from the traditional route, and in this episode, she brings an entirely new perspective to the table. Jasmine discusses finding dentistry in an unexpected place and acting on it with perseverance. She explains how she completed her pre-requisite courses in only 2 years. She also talks about the experience of not being accepted on her first try and how she overcame that.
